Course work: Ongoing work on the final Assignment Four drawing, using colored pencil, a few strokes with a marker, and a little watercolor. I am (I think) near completion now. The use of watercolor paper adds an interesting, almost pointillist, texture to the areas done in colored pencil.

Pp. 70-117
Personal sketchbook work: Three cherries, sketched three times: once with black pencil, once with red chalk and graphite (which I found an interesting combination, worth further investigation), and once with colored pencil.
Weekly reflections on learning experience: Some additional preparatory work for the final Assignment Four drawing, followed by substantial progress on the work itself. I find that I am becoming a good bit more comfortable with using multiple media in a single piece.
After much consideration and some preliminary experimentation, I have decided on Option Two, Drawing Figures, for Assignment Five. There are several reasons: (1) drawing the figure accurately is very challenging; (2) ability to draw a figure reasonably well should carry over to other areas of drawing; (3) I enjoyed doing the exploratory work for the figure more than I enjoyed that for the other options; (4) the exercises for Option Two in Assignment Five appear more varied and interesting than those for the other options.
