Course work: A fourth study, in pencil, of a new arrangement of genuine and reproduction Mesoamerican objects. I think that I have now solved the problem of excessively dissimilar object sizes, in part by eliminating some objects and replacing them with others, in part by reorienting the bird effigy pitcher, and in part by making a spindle for the spindle whorl, thus not only visually enlarging it, but showing its appearance as actually used. The large curved potsherd was replaced by a smaller one, and the small potsherd with an ornamental lug was eliminated. I like this setup well enough to plan to transfer it to A2 paper and undertake a finished drawing.

Other Activities: A one-day session of figure drawing (to my knowledge, the first ever offered in this county). The models were clothed, and the instruction quite basic, but the experience was good preparation for Assignment Two, which I will be starting in a few days.

Personal sketchbook work: In a revisit to the subject of reflected light, I drew a chromed lavatory faucet. I believe that my rendering of reflections on metal has improved a good bit when compared to the course work early this month.

Total time: A bit over two hours
