Course work: Continuing work on tree depiction techniques, a none-too-successful effort done with three colored markers of a cluster of feral pecan trees. These demonstrate some morphologic changes suggesting reversion toward the ancestral hickory stock.

Taschen, Köln, 2005

Pp 30-41

Personal sketchbook work: Tried to represent a fairly dense morning fog, using powdered charcoal with just a little stick charcoal for the fence and the single visible tree trunk. Not a very successful effort: this would probably be most easily done with wet media.

Total time: 1 hour 9 minutes
